Premium Boiled Linseed Oil - 4L - Natural Wood Finish & Protective Coating

Boiled Linseed Oil is a processed linseed oil that has been enhanced with drying agents to expedite the drying process.

Common Uses:

It acts as a timber sealer and protector for indoor furniture and cabinets.

It can be used on wooden tool handles and sports equipment.

It serves as a thinner for artists’ oil paints.

Key Features:

It contains added drying agents, which makes it dry faster than raw linseed oil.

It creates a finish that is generally resistant to water, heat, scratches, and most stains.

It aids in brushing when added to oil-based paints.

It dries to a lighter colour than raw linseed oil.

Application Instructions for Timber Protection:

Ensure the surface is clean and dry. Mix boiled linseed oil in a 50:50 ratio with Diggers Mineral Turpentine for enhanced timber protection.

Apply two thin coats using a brush, roller, or spray gun, ensuring the oil is well rubbed into the wood. Allow sufficient drying time between coats. Wipe away excess oil with a clean, lint-free cloth to prevent the surface from becoming sticky.

How Does Linseed Oil Work? When linseed oil is applied to a porous surface, it fills the pores and forms a protective film as it is exposed to air. This film is generally resistant to water, heat, scratches, and most stains.

Safety Note: Rags soaked in the oil should be immersed in water as they may spontaneously ignite upon drying. Dispose of these rags through controlled incineration or at an approved landfill.
